Copper alloy brooch, trumpet type. Damaged catchplate flap, some corrosion, pin bent. The pin is sprung (6 turns) and the headloop is formed from a wire chord Held by a strip with two grooves. The trupet head is undecorated, the central acanthus moulding goes fully round the bow. The flat sided lower bow has single lines incised along the margins and the moulded foot is flat-ended. Width 13.5mm, total length 48mm. Type as Hattatt no 430.

Copper alloy brooch fragment. Mid to lower bow and part catchplate only, very corroded. The narrow bow is flat backed with rounded front; the centre part has transvers mouldings but other possible decotaion is unclear. The foot is undecorated and tapers to a point. Surviivng length 33.5mm. The type is not immediately identifiable.

The copper-alloy foot fragment with catchplate of a Roman bow brooch, type unknown. This fragment is 21.50mm in length and 3.48mm in width. The foot has flat incomplete ends and between there are transverse grooves. The catachpltae also has traces of transverse grooves across it, which is unusal.

A copper-alloy Roman bow brooch of Colchester derivative rear hook type, missing spring and pin and otherwise complete. Measuring 31.84mm in length and 24.35mm in width across wings. The wings are semi-cylindrical, and have a transverse groove across their terminals and a diagonal groove running from the terminal to the bow. The spring cord was originally held by the rearward facing hook on the top centre of the wings. The lower bow, foot and catachplate only of a Colchester derivative type bow brooch, AD 43-100. The bow has a central longitudinal ridge and a triangular section. It tapers slightly towards its terminal The catachplate has a large triangular hole through its centre. It measures 41.26mm in surviving length, 4.99mm in width, across the bow and 12.14mm in width across the catchplate.

A fragment of a copper-alloy Roman colchester derivative bow brooch, only the upper part of the bow and the central fragments of the wings now survive, the rest of this brooch is missing due to old breaks. It measures 12.10mm in length and 11.60mm in width. There is the remains of a hook or double lug in the centre of the bow.

Colchester derivative with rear hook type Roman bow brooch, missing spring, pin, most of catachplate, terminal of foot and most of the rear hook, worn. Measuring 25.66mm in length and 22.40mm in width. The wings are semi-cylindrical and worn only a stub of the rear hook survives. The bow is D-shaped in section and tapers towards its terminal. No decoration survived but the brooch is too worn to see if it was decorated originally or not.

A fragment of a Roman langton Down type bow brooch, only incomplete wings and the top of the bow survive the rest of the brooch is missing due to old breaks, now worn. It measures 21.47mm in lenght and 24.80mm in width. The cylindrical spring over is incomplete, the bow is flat backed and traces of reeded decoration can be seen. Langton Down brooches are a continental type and occur in pre and post conquest contexts.

An incomplete copper-alloy Colchester type bow brooch, first half of the 1st century AD in date. The pin, spring and most of the catchplate are missing due to old breaks. The surviving brooch is worn and slightly distorted. It measures 73.36mm in length and 12.11mm in width.
The wings are short and flat, the hook which held the chord orginally is bent backwards, a stub of the pin survives. The bow has a rounded section and tapers towards the foot.

The lower bow fragment and foot and catach plate of a copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative bow brooch. Measuring 40.11mm in length and 14.84mm in width. The bow has an oval section and a longitudinal groove down its centre. There is a transverse groove below this where the foot begins, and two more transverse grooves across the end of the foot. The catplate is triangular and has two tirangular holes and a pin groove.

Copper alloy brooch, Hod Hill type with side projections near the top of the bow. Missing pin, one side projection; bent; very corroded/abraded. The bow is very thin and flat, without the usual deep grooves and ribs of the type even allowing for damage. The remaining side projection is small, but might be incomplete. The bow has traces of a narrow centre rib, a rib along the sides and two transverse ribs marking the lower bow. The lower bow has a convex face and tapers to the foot which has a broad fully round knob. Surviving width (hinge) 11.5mm, length 49mm.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman bow brooch of Colchester derivative double lug type, AD 43-100. Part of the spring, the pin, catchplate and foot terminal are now missing due to old breaks. The lug at the back of the wings has two holes, the upper one carries the spring cord and the lower one the axis bar. The wings are semi-cylindrical in shape and undecorated. The spring has eight surviving turns. The bow is D-shaped in section and has fluted sides and the lug becomes a central rib on the upper bow. This brooch measures 31.00mm in surviving length and 20.41mm in width.

A copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative hinged type bow brooch, missing its pin only. The wings are folded round to form a cylindrical case around a copper-alloy axis bar on which the now missing pin was hinged in the centre. The wings have transverse grooves across their terminals and diagonal grooves between these are the bow. The bow has a D-shaped section and a central rib with grooves to either side of it one third of the way down, the rest of the bow and foot has transverse mouldings across it. Colchester derivative with double pierced lug type Roman bow brooch, complete apart from pin. The wings are semi-cylindrical and undecorated. The lug at the back of the wings has two holes, the upper one carries the spring cord and the lower one the axis bar. The spring has eight coils, the lug becomes a central rib on the upper bow, this rib flattens the rest of the length of the bow and there is transverse notching lower down it. The catchplate is unpierced and has a pin groove. This brooch measures 40.02mm in length and 18.90mm in width.
