An incomplete cast copper-alloy bow brooch of Early Medieval date, c. 450-500 AD. It is preserved completely intact except for its pin, demonstrating a tubular circular-sectioned head, now clogged with ferrous corrosion product that likely reflects the original presence of an iron axis bar and co-incident loop from which the pin hinged. The bow curves strongly in profile, decorated at its upper edge with two segments of three and two transverse grooves respectively and a further pattern of two/three/two at its midpoint, where the bow straightens.
