A probable nummus, from the House of Constantine [AD 313 - 364]. The reverse is very worn, but it is possibly a GLORIA EXERCITVS reverse type of a soldier with one standard, which would give a date range of AD 335-341, and a Reece period of 17. The Mint type is unclear. Dimensions: Diameter, 15mm. Thickness (average), 1.1mm. Weight: 1.34g.

Copper alloy radiate of Carausius (AD 286-93) (Reece Period 14), COMES AVG, Victory advancing right, holding wreath and palm. Unatttributed Mint. Not recorded in RIC V, pt 2. The obverse legend has a die engraver's error, the I in Carausius being omitted: IMP C CARAVSVS P AVG. The intended legend would have been IMP C CARAVSIVS P AVG. Three other coins with this reverse type are known, all with different obverse legends: IMP CARAVSIVS P AV, IMP CARAVSIVS P F AVG and IMP C CARAVSIVS P F AVG. It does not appear to share a reverse die with the other specimens.

A very worn and corrded copper-alloy Roman as, possibly a contemporary copy of a coin of Claudius I, c.43-54 AD. Reverse: Minerva(?) advancing right brandishing spear, S-C in the field. Robert Kenyon, following on from the work by the French scholars P-A. Besombes and M.
