A silver hammered halfgroat of Henry VI's first reign, dating c. 1427/1428-1430. This coin is a mule, with the obverse of the annulet issue and the reverse of the rosette-mascle issue. It is probable that this coin is closely datable to 1427-1428, when both these dies were known to be in use at the Calais mint. Several others are recorded on the PAS database, see NMS-9C29B2, NMS-3EB914, HESH-BB61F and SUSS-3217C3. North 1429/1448.

Obverse shows a forward facing crowned bust, single annulet at each shoulder. Reverse legend reads: VIL/L[A..]/CAL/IS(saltire stop). Reverse shows a solid long cross with three pellets per quarter, two opposing quarters have a single annulet at the centre of the three pellets ('VIL' & 'CAL' quarters). Die axis is 9 o'clock.
