Object type: WEIGHT
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Suffolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A complete lead weight of uncertain date. The object is disc-shaped and perforated with a small off-centre hole. It could possibly have been used as a spindle whorl, but seems too irregularly shaped to have functioned correctly. Because the object lacks diagnostic features it could easily date from the Roman to post-medieval period.

An incomplete lead and iron steelyard weight of possible Roman date. It is sub-ovoid in shape with the remains of a corroded iron rod passed through the centre. There is damage and distortion to both ends and the surface is corroded and scratched.
