An incomplete, bent and extremely corroded cast copper alloy Roman bow brooch of Colchester derivative two piece front-hooked type, dating to the first century AD. The arms are semi-cylindrical and there is a stump for a spring hook at the front of the head. The bow tapers and curves back from the head, with a sub rounded cross section and a ridged spine. The bow tapers to a triangular foot with a stump of a catchplate beneath.

A cast copper alloy base ring from a vessel (?) possibly a bowl, 48.3mm in diameter. There are no marks or other decoration. The inner surface is concave and appears to be fire blackened. Date uncertain but potentially Roman to post medieval.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman centre looped cosmetic pestle. It is formed from a long curved rod, circular in cross-section and becoming narrower towards each end, which terminates in a blunt point, one of which terminates in an old break. Projecting from the centre of the upper edge is a flattened sub-circular loop, which is circular in cross-section. The surface of the metal has a shiny green-brown patina.

A complete copper-alloy Roman probable furniture fitting or handle. The object consists of a decorative knob comprising, from base to apex, a disc-shaped section encircled by a grooved line; a spool-shaped section; a rounded, inverted conical knob flaring into a disc at its upper end and a flattened knob at the apex. The lower face of the knob has the remains of an iron attachment component. The copper-alloy component survives in good condition.

A probable copper-alloy Roman hair pin or furniture nail - the shaft is corroded and incomplete and tapers to a point, with only a corroded head remaining. The head is globular in shape, with no visible collar. The surface is pitted and uneven. It is similar to examples seen in Crummy, 1989, pg 115, fig116 - globular, bun-shaped heads.

4 fragments of a puddingstone quern of probable Roman date. Puddingstone is distinctive conglomerate containing rounded red flint pebbles within a siliceous matrix, the main sources of which lie in Hertfordshire. Research carried out by Major (2004, 2-4) in Essex suggests that puddingstone rotary querns were produced here from at least 10 AD until around 160 AD and a similar chronology seems likely in Cambridgeshire.

A fragment of a copper-alloy Roman brooch. Only part of the bow and catchplate remain, it is very worn. The bow is flat, with rectangular cross section, on the front face are two longitudinal grooves below which is a moulded transverse groove, which tapers into a triangular shape before terminating in an old break. To the reverse are the remains of a catchplate. It has the remains of a white metal coating.

An incomplete worn enamelled copper-alloy flat disc brooch dating to 80-250AD. A small disc, with the (now missing) pin mounted between two worn lugs. On the centre of the disc is a centrla reserved spot surrounded by a concave sided hexagon on whose cusps are small circles, and in the recesses are remains of blue enamel. A similar example can be seen in Mackreth, 2011, pg 108, plate 105, 11599 and 10656.

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy possible trumpet brooch dating to circa AD 75-175. All that remains is part of the bow, foot and catchplate. The foot is triangular in form, with a flat base, and a recessed triangle, which may have been enamelled. To the reverse are the remains of a catchplate. The central disc is knobbed, and has concentric circles design. Similar examples can be found in Mackreth, 2011, pg89, plate 86, 5587-5625.
