A complete copper alloy dress hook dating to the post medieval period (AD 1500 - AD 1700).
The dress hook comprises of a trefoil shaped main plate which has a straight upper edge, decorated with a openwork knot design. The main body plate has a rope design and each running-end of the knot terminates in a plain pellet, which marks the join between the main plate and the sub-rectangular attachment loop. An incomplete cast copper-alloy hooked tag of Post-Medieval date. It has a flat back with circular openwork plate and integrally cast rectangular suspension loop at the top of the plate. The fastener has a circular main body with a border of raised pellets. The body of the fastener is decorated with a cross centred with a raised pellet. Each quarter has a series of decorative openwork perforation holes. There is an old break just below the main body where the hook would have once extended from. The fastener has a dark green patina.
