A complete cast lead-alloy ampulla dating to the Medieval period, c.1350-1530. The ampulla is broadly bag-shaped, with two suspension lugs situated at its mid point on either side of the object. One of the lugs has retained its shape whereas the opposite is broken and distorted. One face is decorated with a hachured border that runs around the entire outer edge of the ampulla, but this is not visible at the upper portion of the object due to old damage. An incomplete medieval lead ampulla dating to AD 1300 - 1500. It is flask-shaped with a rounded bowl beneath a neck which has been broken in old damage. The base of the neck is decorated with two transverse ridges which run in line with the stubs of what were two suspension loops, one on either side, and the bowl is decorated on one face with scallop shell reeding. Any decoration on the other face has been lost through old damage. Width: 26.9mm at the neck and 31.0mm max at the bowl; length: 47.5mm. Weight: 29.9g
