An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester derivative hinged type. With considerable corrosion and old damage only one wing and top part of the bow survive. The remaining wing is cylindrical in shape with a join running across the reverse where it has been rolled from a single piece of metal and there is a transverse slot in the centre within which is iron concretion. At the outer end of the wing can be seen evidence of an iron axis bar, also corroded. Although damaged, the D-shaped, sharply-curved bow shows decoration on its face by way of upward-curving diago…

A fragment of a rotary quern of probable Roman date. Made from medium to fine grain sandstone with evidence of fine inclusions. The fragment is part of the lower half of the quern and does not extend to the middle hole, so the dimensions of the entire stone are uncertain. The pendant is of the drop form type and consists of a suspension loop that is attached to a tube shaped section that tapers towards the termination. An incomplete cast copper-alloy late Iron Age to Roman brooch of the Aesica type, dating to AD 20-60. The wings are C-shaped in section and are decorated with transverse grooves before ending in old damage. The bow begins immediately below the stub of the damaged rear hook and bows outward, with a vertical backplate creating a circular void now filled with non-ferrous concretion. An incomplete copper alloy button and loop fastener of Wild Class III, dating to the Roman period (AD 80 - AD 200). The head of the fastener is teardrop shaped, with a central circular boss within a deep circumferential recess. The surrounding moulding is raised and drawn out into a soft point. The shank protrudes from the reverse of the head, and bends at 90 degrees before an old break after 14mm, originally it would have continued until terminating in a triangular attachment loop. A complete but worn cast copper-alloy bracelet of Roman date, AD 250 - 410. The bracelet is sub-circular in shape. Both terminals are worn to an extent that there original shape is unclear. The band is rectangular in form, oval shaped in section and tapers at one end while the other terminal is either wider than the other or has an old break at the tip of the terminal.
