A complete copper alloy, enamelled and silvered cast Roman continental bow brooch, 2nd - early 3rd Century AD. The upper bow of the brooch is expanded to form a large, triangle shaped field for decoration. This upper plate is divided into two areas, a raised triangle within a larger triangle. The outer ( lower ) triangular field is silvered . The inner triangular field contains remnants of green enamel. An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman Aesica brooch dating to the later part of the 1st century. The brooch has wings within which is the spring was housed, now corroded and not visible. The upper bow is broadly diamond shaped in plan with epanded knopped terminals on the outer corners. Within the centre of the upper bow is a circular depression that probably once contained enamel. One arm of an incomplete pair of cast copper alloy tweezers of probable Roman or possible early medieval date. Of sub-rectangular shape and flat rectangular section, the arm commences approximately halfway into the now broken suspension loop and flares in width towards the bottom which is also truncated in old damage. The loop is decorated on its outside face with a central ridge which ends at the base of the loop. An incomplete cast copper alloy bracelet of late Roman date AD 200-400 (see Crummy 1983, 37). Largely uniform in width and thickness, the fragment is sub-rectangular in shape and rectangular in section with both ends broken and the body bent in old damage. It is decorated with two sets of two oblique, transverse grooved lines. Length: 41.7mm; width: 6.0mm; thickness: 1.8mm. Weight: 2.4g Found within 100m of PUBLIC-44495E and with the same characteristics and decoration, this item could well be a fragment from the same bracelet.

A body sherd from a Roman greyware ceramic vessel. The sherd has clear striations indicating it to be a wheel thrown vessel. The fabric is hard with a smooth texture and has numerous mica and other inclusions throughout the sherd. It is a dark grey colour on the outer surface, lighter grey on the inner surface, with the core being a sandy light brown colour. Length 69.89, Width 75.6mm, Thickness 7.44mm, Weight 50.4g.
