The sherd has a grey fabric with a grey core sandwiched between two terracotta colour layers that have dark dusty surfaces which could be burning on both surfaces. The sherd has frequent quartzite inclusions. Length 37.62mm, Width 30.51mm, Thickness 10.76mm, Weight 16.1g

A fragment originating from a large Roman ceramic greyware vessel (possibly a storage jar) dating from AD 43 - 410. The fragment is a base sherd with a small extension of one side of the vessel and is of mid grey colour showing flint inclusions. The sherd is 68.24mm long, 33.27mm wide, 13.64mm thick ( average ) and weighs 60.6 grams.
