A complete uniface Medieval to Post Medieval cast lead alloy uniface token, dating from c. AD 1250-1800. This is a Powell Type 14 token. One face of the token has a large single cross which is raised above the surface, the reverse is blank. The token is of a light grey/biege colour. A very similar token can be found on the PAS at - PUBLIC-02FB53 Diameter 23.6mm. Thickness 2.34mm. Weight 6.5gms. Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to …
