VIRTVS RO-MANORVM reverse type depicting Victory seated, holding Victory on globe and spear. Mint of Trier. As Hoxne no. 518; RIC IX, p. 29, no. 84b. There is a small hairline fracture on obverse extends from bottom edge of coin to the centre. Obverse: D N MAG MAX-IMVS P F AVG, pearl-diademed,draped, and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: VIRTVS RO-MANORVM, Roma seated left,with spear in left hand,and Victory on globe in right hand.

A complete coppe-alloy nummus struck for Gratian, dating c. 379-383 AD. Reece period 20, uncertain mint. Reverse; VOT XV MVLT XX within wreath. The coin is well preserved with an even brown patina covering its surfaces, though the mintmark is off flan. C.f LRBC no. 377, for the most common mint (Lugdunum) that struck for Gratian in this issue.
