A complete copper alloy probable medieval swivelling strap fitting. The object consists of a circular cross-sectioned hoop with a oval section projecting from one side. There is a circular hole, c.7mm at its widest point, through the centre of the oval section. The circular hole is faceted on both faces, suggesting that a moveable component was attached here originally. The cross-section of the hoop would also be unusual for a finger ring, suggesting a more practical function. An incomplete cast copper-alloy swivel strap fitting of Medieval date. Only one loop survives in its entirety, the second loop is incomplete due to old breaks, now worn. The complete loop is D-shaped in form and section, tapering at both sides in stylised zoomorphic terminals. These are in the form of animal heads with crescent shaped ears, prominent and projecting triangular brows with transverse grooves, and elongated snouts. An incomplete copper alloy early medieval stirrup-strap mount. It is retangular in shape, but it was probably pentagonal originally like others in its class. The outer face is decorated with an engraved pair of addorsed beasts. The beasts are facing one another with upturned beak-like snouts curving inwards, eyes towards the base and several asymetrical loops in between joining their bodies. An incomplete cast copper-alloy toggle-clasp from a sword belt hanger of Post-Medieval date. Part of the toggle plate survives intact, the toggle itself and corresponding clasp missing due to old breaks. It has a flat rectangular shaped plate with large central circular perforation with two small circular rivet holes to either side. The exterior edge is raised with moulding and incision decoration giving the appearance of corded decoration. An incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval sword belt hanger. It is composed of a sub-oval plate with a break at its outer end, a narrow rectangular section positioned transversely across its lower end and a long strip projecting from the centre of the lower edge of this latter section, curving round towards the reverse in a sinuous S-shape. A complete copper-alloy strap fitting of probably post-medieval date. It consists of a long strip bent into a U-shape, becoming narrower at the bend. Each end has two circular holes through it, one above the other. One of these is covered with heavy iron corrosion. Fittings such as these were used for a long period and had a variety of functions, but the style of this example suggests a more recent date.

A fragment of a cast copper-alloy strap fitting (swivel) of medieval date (c.1066-1400). Description: The object remains as one of the zoomorphic terminals and a section of its loop. A stub of the bar projects from the animal's mouth. The animal head is moulded and symmetrical on both sides. Plano-convex in section, the extant piece consists of the lower part of the object with a moulded double collar at the apex, terminating in an old break. The object comprises a sub-oval central section with a convex outer face moulded in the form of a stylised human head and three flattened rings, each of the same size, projecting at equal intervals from the sides. This fitting is missing the hook and head of the object, which would have been formed as a possibly female head with radiating hair.
