An incomplete mount or strap fitting of Roman date. This artefact is made of copper-alloy in the shape of a lion's head. It is roughly oval in shape, more rounded at the top with a slightly more acutely rounded lower end. The front surface is moulded into a convex dome and the reverse is correspondingly a concave hollow. This artefact weighs 7.78g, has a height of 29.2mm, maximum width of 22.4mm and depth from tip of front surface to reverse edges is 12.4mm. A cast copper alloy Medieval-Post Medieval lozenge-shaped artefact, which is probably a horse harness mount. It is comprised of three integral sections; the lozenge shape, an elongated collar and a shank. Using a dressmaker's flexible tape the overall length of the artefact is 80.0mm. Weight:20.20g. A copper-alloy escutcheon plate mount of mid Post-Medieval to early Modern date. The mount weighs 17.24g and is oval in shape measuring 40.9mm x 34.7mm. The centre of the mount rises up to form a central oval shaped dome, convex on the upper surface and concave on the reverse. This oval domed centre measure 24.6mm x 7.1mm. From the photograph of the reverse, this appears to be an early post-medieval hooked mount with a 'shield-shaped' plate and sturdy blunt hook. The plate has curved lower corners and is then waisted before flaring out again to a shaped top; the hook has outcurved edges at the top and parallel edges lower down, and has a straight cut-across end; it bends towards the reverse of the plate. Decorative post-medieval copper alloy keyhole escutcheon. The decoration consists of foliage and flowers and there is an ovoid double braid decoration around the central keyhole. Part of the top right foliate decoration is missing and there is a rivet hole on the back of the object underneath the keyhole. The object measures 46.46mm in length, 40.39mm in width and weighs 12.94mm.
