A cast copper alloy buckle of medieval date (c.1400 - 1500). Description: The frame consists of a sub-oval loop, the edges of which are scalloped with nine lobes, and an integral rectangular attachment loop.  The inside edge of the oval loop is perforated with as circular hole through which a copper-alloy pin is wrapped.  Measurements: length: 25.6mm, width: 17.2mm, thickness: 1.8mm, weight: 3,02g. Discussion: Similar to that found in Whitehead, 2003, p. 38, no. 220.

An incomplete, medieval large copper-alloy annular double looped buckle frame, dating to c AD 1400-1500. The frame is circular in plan and D-shaped in cross-section with a flat reverse and convex outer surface. A central axis bar runs down the middle of the frame which is trapazoidal in cross section. The outside edges of the buckle are bevelled and decorated with alternating raised and sunken panels around the inner and outer edge of the frame. The reverse is flat and undecorated. A Post Medieval copper alloy double looped buckle frame dating to AD 1550-1650. The buckle is missing its pin. The buckle has two oval loops with moulded rosette decoration on the outer edge of each loop and lobed knops at either end of the central strap bar which is straight sided. The pin is missing. The front is convex and the back is flat and undecorated.

An early medieval single loop buckle dating from c. 450 - 700 AD. Probably made from a tinned copper-alloy. The frame is D shaped in plan and also in cross-section. The pin is present and attached to a rounded bar. There is a lot of corrosion around the pin which is made from iron. There is no decoration present on the buckle. The buckle is 28.9mm long, 20.5mm wide and 6.2mm thick. It weighs 15.4g.

Complete cast copper-alloy late Roman buckle of zoomorphic design, dating to c. AD 300 - 410. The buckle is of Hawkes and Dunning Type IIB, with an integrally cast sub-circular buckle plate. The loop is formed of two dolphin heads curving upward to meet, open-jawed, at the diamond-shaped pin rest in the centre of the outer loop edge. Copper alloy double loop buckle dating to the Post Medieval period, AD1500-1650. It is oval in shape with a central strap bar dividing the buckle into two D shaped sections. At either end of the strap bar is a moulded knop. The pin survives in good condition, a little corrosion on the underside with the rest of the buckle covered in a green patina. The frame is 'D' shaped in section with a flat back and rounded upper face. The strap bar is circular in section. A triangular moulded knop sits at either end of the strap bar. The pin is missing. It measures 20.2mm in length, 16.3mm in width, 2.7mm in thickness and weighs 1.31g. Whitehead (2003, pg. 54) illustrates similar examples, e.g. nos. 304 - 308, which he dates to between 1500 and 1650 AD.

Incomplete copper alloy clasp fastener buckle dating to the Medieval period. The buckle comprises of a single loop, broadly rectangular in section with expanded top and bottom edges. The frame is ovoid in section whilst the outer edge and strap bar are rounded in section. The outer edge is thickened and expanded, the closure and pin are missing. The buckle measures 12.8mm in length, 11.6mm in width, 2.4mm thick and weighs 0.69g. Whitehead (2003, pg. 41) illustrates similar examples, e.g. nos. 231 and 232, which he dates to between 1300 and 1450 AD.

The frame is broadly rectangular in section whilst the strap bar is narrowed, offset and circular in section.
