Medieval oval buckle frame with obliquely-notched sides and outside edge forming a continuous cable moulding, internal offset to narrowed pin bar, pin missing. The reverse is flat. 27.5 x 28.5mm. Whitehead (2003) suggests dates this type (no. 122) to c.1450 - c.1500. Perhaps a 15th-century date is more appropriate.
