A complete lead steelyard weight of possible Roman date. It is biconical in shape with the corroded remains of an iron rod protruding from either end, with one suspension loop intact. The surface of the metal is heavily corroded. Although steelyard weights were in use from the Roman to post-medieval periods, biconical examples with iron extending from both ends tend to be of Roman date. An incomplete lead hooked tag of probable Early Medieval date. It consists of a circular boss with two pierced attachment loops, the hook is missing, with iron corrosion present around a circular hole in the disc. Decoration comprises a prominent boss in the centre of three sets of double-line in counter-relief. An incomplete lead Papal bulla probably of Pope Nicholas III (1277-80). It has been folded and broken post-deposition, neither the reverse or obverse are entirely clear. A similar, solid, possible gaming piece has been found at Long Melford, Suffolk see SF-C01997, Little Wilbraham, Cambridgehsire see SF-50B784, and two hollow very simliar examples have also been found at Little Wilbraham, Cambridgeshire, see SF-6F5256 and SF-6F7361. An incomplete cast lead mount of medieval to post-medieval date (c.1300-1600). Description: The mount is in the form of a five-armed wavy star, two of which surive, the rest being stubs. Each slightly curved arm is sub-triangular in cross-section so that they are rasied at their centres. Smaller arms, inbeween these, are all broken off at their bases. A lead unidentified object. This object is a cast lead ring, oval in shape measuring 13mm in length and 7mm in width externally and 8mm in length and 5mm in width internally. A cast lead miniature axe of possible Roman date. It is square in section at the butt end, tapering in width towards the blade end where it flares to produce a triangular plan and profile. At the butt end is an circular socket. TIt measures 19.04mm in length, 10.11mm in width, 1.70mm in thickness (at blade end), and weighs 3.45g. This is possibly a votive axe similar to other examples recorded through the PAS database (e.g. IOW-DFA401, FAKL-B0C080, SF-BD6BA3, SF-4AB493 or SF-105BC3).
