An incomplete cast copper alloy object of unknown date or purpose. D-shaped in section, it begins and ends in old damage, with the sides running parallel before flaring out at the bottom where the damage has given it a roughly pointed end, though the original shape is impossible to determine. The front is decorated by a centrally-sited and inverted incised chevron. The rear is undecorated and has the stub of a transverse central lug situated at the widest point.

An incomplete glass bead of unknown date. Of pale blue-green glass and with approximately half of it surviving, it is circular in plan, D-shape in section, and tapers in thickness from top to bottom. It is of crude manufacture, with a rough and irregular inner surface and within the glass are many bubbles, some of which were near enough to the surface to burst, causing pitting.
While difficult to date, it is possible that the object dates from the Roman to Medieval periods (AD 43-1066). Similar examples can be found on records SF-E25990 (attributed to early medieval date) and …

A complete, copper alloy, chisel, possibly Bronze Age - Medieval in date, 1500BC - AD.1500. The object has a cast chisel with a flat bladed terminal that widens towards the middle of the piece before tapering down to a sharp point at the opposite end. There is no decoration on the object and it has an even, green, patina. Small awls and tools of this type were used for an extensive period of time, as such dating the object more accurately is difficult.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch of the Colchester derivative hinged type. With considerable corrosion and old damage only one wing and top part of the bow survive. At the outer end of the wing can be seen evidence of an iron axis bar, also corroded. Although damaged, the D-shaped, sharply-curved bow shows decoration on its face by way of upward-curving diago…

Copper-alloy key, 42mm long. The bow is formed from a C-scroll, and is mushroom-shaped internally. The junction between bow and stem is marked by a solid rectangular area, slightly tapering and with a ridge across either end. The stem looks (from the photo) to be faceted, and the relatively large bit is set at 90 degrees to the plane of the bow. The bit is in line with the end of the stem, but it is not possible to tell from the photo whether the end of the stem is hollow or not. The bit has a rectangular notch cut out of its forward edge at its junction with the stem, and two triangu…

Looped around the axis bar, between the lugs, are the vestiges of the top of the box. There are trace…
