A complete sheet copper-alloy bell of Medieval date. The bell was spherical in shape, but has a split along the circumferential ridge making it sub spherical, and composed of two hemispherical halves soldered together creating a very slight circumferential ridge. The upper half of the bell has a single small sub-circular shaped sound hole. At the top of the bell is a small integral suspension loop that is flat, rectangular in section, and circular in profile. The iron pea no longer survives due to the split in the body of the bell.  This relatively small bell may w…

At the top of the bell is a small integral suspension loop that is flat, rectangular in section, and circular in profile. The iron pea still survives inside the bell.  This relatively small bell may well have been utilised on clothing or perhaps even as a hawking bell (see for example ESS-B7F6A2).
