A complete worn post-medieval copper alloy Tournai jetton of a 'shield of France' type dating to c.1400-1500).
Obverse: French shield with annulet above. Legend: + AVE MARIA . GRACIA
Reverse: Double stranded arcuate cross fleuretty with central pelle: in 4-arched tressure: internal angles, ornaments (x4): external, plain.
Obverse as Mitchiner no. 709. Reverse as Mitchiner no. 708. (1988, p. 231)
The jetton is pierced at its centre.
Measurements: Diameter 26.7mm; Thickness 1.2 mm; Weight: 2.73 g.

Post Medieval Nuremburg jetton. The legend and design of the obverse is unclear. The reverse design is a large orb surmounted by a cross within a tressure of three arches. The reverse legend is illegible. The jetton is 29.13mm in diameter, 1.21mm thick and weighs 5.69 grams.

Post Medieval Jetton: anonymous Nuremberg stock 'French shield' jetton, dating 1500-1525AD. Both surfaces are in poor condition and the legend is illegible. However, even if legible jettons of this type have fictitious legends. It is similar to designs in Mitchiner p355-358 numbers 1069 to 1092. The jetton has a diameter of 26.58mm, is 0.61mm thick and weighs 1.62 grams.
