A complete silver medieval Sterling imitation penny/brabantinus of John I duke of Brabant (AD 1267-1294) and Limburg (AD 1288-1294). Brabant Long Cross single-lion sterling, Walt type. A worn cut silver long-cross farthing from a Brabantini of John I, Duke of Brabant and Limburg, Walt type, c.1270-1282 AD. As Mayhew (1983: pp. 13, 16) type 1a-d. 'Brabantini', which imitated voided long-cross pennies, date to the 1270s and 1280s and precede the common sterling imitations made during the reign of Edward I.
