A large snapped flint flake. Roughly oval in shape with one straight edge, it measures 91mm in length, 75mm in width and is 24mm thick. This flake has a prepared striking platform and large longdituinal flakes have been removed from its dorsal face. Its patination is medium browns and it is most likely to be Lower Palaeolithic in date.

A complete flint flake from a large core, or possibly from the edge of a large hand-axe. It is roughly oval in shape and measures 82mm in length, 51mm in width and is 17mm thick. There is one recent break exposing a medium to dark grey flint but the rest of this flake is stained with blotchy pale, medium and dark browns. This flake is most likely to be lower Palaeolithic in date.

Large flint hand-axe, squat ovate form. Rolled and abraded condition. Stained deep mid and dark brown, with a recent chip from one edge revealing pale grey flint beneath. Lower (early) Palaeolithic, c. 500,000 BC to 40,000 BC.

Ovate handaxe, broken at one end in antiquity. Glossy red/brown stained flint with a large number of coarse-grained inclusions. An old but thinly patinated chip indicates that the flint is probably pale grey in colour. One face is flaked all over; the opposed face is more than 50% cortex, which is thick but weathered, of a buff colour with black speckled staining. Dimensions: 124 mm surviving length, 85 mm wide and 30 mm thick. Condition: lightly rolled.
