A flint handaxe of the Paleolithic period, dating to c. 300.000 - 40.000 BC. It is drop-shaped and pointed oval in cross-section. It is bi-facially worked from an orengeish cream flint core. The ventral face is slightly flatter than the dorsal face and has further scaled retouches on the curved edge. The dorsal face has an off-centred longitudinal ridge and invasive, scaled retouches made from different angles. Lenght: 61.94 mm Width: 52.41 mm Thickness: 29.29 mm Weight: 77.95 g

A flint handaxe in sharp condition with all-over shallow bifacial retouch, very unifrom slightly pointed oval in shape. Unpatinated or stained and a dark brown/black flint with one plae grey patch near the tip. Length 99mm, width 77mm and maximum thickness is 24mm. This axe looks like a relatively recent product, however no obvious recent flake scar marks are visible, so it has probably been buried for some time. None-the-less its discovered position, only 15cm deep, suggests a re-deposition from an unknown context. It could therefore be modern and in the form of a middle Palaeolithic…

A complete flint lower Paleolithic handaxe. Pointed in shape and bifacially worked with a small patch of cortex remaining in the centre of one face. The face without the cortex is more heavily patinated and all surfaces are iron stained. The edges are rolled and the pointed tip is particularly abraded. A complete flint lower Paleolithic handaxe. Small sub-cordate shape and bifacially worked with just a small amount of cortex remaining towards the butt end of one face. The flint is dark grey-brown in colour with light speckled patination that is heavier on the face with the cortex. An unpatinated long flint flake of possible Upper Palaeolithic or Mesolithic date. It is triangular in section and struck from a dark brown flint with some cortex remaining on one side of the dorsal face. The dorsal face has parallel flake or blade scars and limited but careful edge retouch particularly at the proximal end. It measures 80.50mm in length, 38.03mm in width, 18.66mm in thickness and 49.46g in weight. This is a struck flint flake of probable Upper Palaeolithic to Mesolithic date, c.40,000-4,500 BC.

Secondary, hard hammer struck flake, of black and grey flint, now lightly patininated orange and white, the edges are broken at a steep angle resembling retouch, though this is later damage as they lack the same degree of patination. Three large flakes have been previously removed to the dorsal face, one overlaps another and looks like part of the same flake scar. The wide platform has four incipient cones of percussion from trying to remove this flake, the last one (very close to a previous blow) clearly "did the job".
