An incomplete cast lead mount of medieval to post-medieval date (c.1300-1600). Description: The mount is in the form of a five-armed wavy star, two of which surive, the rest being stubs. Each slightly curved arm is sub-triangular in cross-section so that they are rasied at their centres. Smaller arms, inbeween these, are all broken off at their bases. Description: The mount is sub-triangular in plan with a zoomorphic head terminal at the apex. The decoration consists of a series of looping and bifurcating tendrils which end in lobes. The flange is not intact and is the piece that is missing. A minimal amount of iron corrosion is present on the reverse apex loop from the rivets. The object has a light red-brown patina. Description: The frame consists of a sub-oval loop, the edges of which are scalloped with nine lobes, and an integral rectangular attachment loop.  The inside edge of the oval loop is perforated with as circular hole through which a copper-alloy pin is wrapped.  Measurements: length: 25.6mm, width: 17.2mm, thickness: 1.8mm, weight: 3,02g. The object consists of a flattened bulb like vessel with a single wide mouth opening at the top and two attachment loops on either side. One face of the ampulla has a heart within a square, possibly with a crown above. On the other face is a flower design made of four petals, in the orientation of a cross.
