The copper-alloy loop of an Iron Age to Roman end-looped cosmetic mortar dating to the 1st to 2nd century AD. The bow of the mortar is missing due to old breaks. The end loop measures 15.02mm by 15.57mm in size. It has a central circular hole 7.57mm in diameter. The outer edge of the loop has a decorative groove, a tiny fragment of the hollowed out bow of the mortar survives.

Copper alloy brooch fragment, lion bow type. Part of the upper bow only, corroded surfaces. This is the "lion-shaped" element of the bow, with square rivet attached to a sheet fragment from the lower bow. The stylised animal shape is conveyed by transverse mouldings and a hole at the top on the break represents the division between the lions back legs below the join to the spring cover. Surviving length 24mm, width at lower bow junction 10mm. As Hattatt no.280. The lion bow type is related to the Rosette series and Continental in origin.

Bronze unit, some wear and some recent damage on the edge. Identifiable as VA 154-3 "Kentish uncertain", Hobbs 2484-2486 "uninscribed south-eastern bronze". Around 35 are listed on CCI database (http://www.writer2001.com/cciwriter2001/BritishLists/Cantii/Cantii_59.htm), the majority of located ones being from Kent and two from Essex (Tilbury, Maldon) - thus this eg is the farthest north found as yet.

It is complete, with one terminal curved over into a semi-circular handle, with signs of wear on the underside. An incomplete copper-alloy Late Iron Age or Roman centre-looped cosmetic pestle. The pestle is crescentic and tapers towards each end. One terminal is missing and the centre loop is incomplete due to old breaks. It is 48.42mm long, 3.93mm wide and 4.04mm thick. The stem has a triangular cross-section with rounded corners. A complete copper-alloy centre-looped cosmetic pestle of Late Iron Age to Roman date. The rod is crescentic, tapers to a rounded point at either terminal and is D-shaped in secion. A copper-alloy Late Iron Age to Roman cosmetic mortar with a central loop of very unusual form. The bow is crescent shaped and is 54.86mm long, 11.31mm wide across its centre, 9.69mm thick across its centre and the internal longitudinal groove is 6.15mm deep. A copper-alloy Iron Age/Roman Colchester type bow brooch, incomplete, missing pin, part of spring and part of catchplate, also now bent. Measuring 23.80mm in bent length, 13.90mm in width across the wings. It has flat short wings, three coils of the spring survive, the spring and now missing pin are a continuation of the body and the cord also survives and is held by the hook, which also comes out of the body and is bent forward onto the bow. The bow is flat backed and has longitudinal decoration. The catchplate has the remains of two circular holes through it.

A cast copper-alloy ring, probably Iron Age or Roman in date for which no parallel could be found. The ring is roughly D-shaped and oval in section and measures 36.34mm by 39.61mm externally and 20.15mm by 17.91mm internally. There is iron corrosion adhering to the inner face. The object has a mid green patina with small patches of light powdery green corrosion. A copper-alloy Langton Down type Roman bow brooch, the wings and the upper part of the bow survive and the rest of the brooch and the pin is missing, Langton Down brooches occur in Pre-conquest contexts but also in contexts dated post AD 43. The wings are a cylindrical spring cover with transverse grooves across their terminal and one horizontal groove across the centre. The bow fragment is flat backed and has longitudinal reeded decoration. Similar to Hacheston example (PLouviez 2004, 91,-92, no 34). It measures 21.21mm in length and 19.67mm in width.

Such brooches occur frequently in pre-conquest contexts but are also found in contexts dated post AD 43. It has a cylindrical spring cover, which is worn away along its inner edge to reveal a copper-alloy spring with seven coils. The bow is flat backed may have had reeding down the front originally but is now too worn to be sure. Measuring 14.55mm in length and 18.80mm in width.

A copper-alloy late Iron Age-Roman bow brooch of nauheim derivative type with a flat bow. It is incomplete as the spring is incomplete, pin missing and catchplate incomplete due to wear. The bow head narrows with curved sides into the circular section spring, two coils of the spring survive. The bow is flat and although worn has traces of longitudinal lines, it tapers towards the foot from 8.22mm to 2.77mm in width. It measures 57.64mm in total length.

The spring cover is cylindrical and bow flat backed with three transverse grooves where it joins the spring cover and five longitudinal grooves running down its length. This brooch measures 20.11mm in surviving length and 14.90mm in width.
