Small rather thick coin (diam 11.5mm, thickness varying c.1.8 to 2.5mm), slightly dished and almost certainly Iron Age. Metal probably silver but discoloured. The reverse makes most sense as a horse to right, in the style of Icenian Pattern-Horse types with a double mane and simplified body but the obverse has a couple of high relief spots which make no sense as an Iceni design. Perhaps heat damaged?

Philip de Jersey comments: Despite its rather unattractive appearance, this is an extremely interesting coin. It is only the third known example of a very late silver unit of Cunobelin, which I included in the article on Cunobelin's silver in Britannia 32 (2001). It is type F5 in there.
