Medieval silver penny from the reign of Edward I (AD1272-1307), dating AD1301-10. North class 10. Minted at London. Obverse shows the front facing bust of Edward I. Mintmark is a cross pattee and the inscrption reads ED[W]AR ANGL DNS hYB. The reverse is divided into four quadrants by a long cross, with three pellets in each quadrant. Inscription reads CIVI / TAS / LON / DON. The coin has a dark grey discolouration on both sides. The coin weighs 1.31 grams, 18.16 mm diameter

A clipped, silver penny of Charles I (1625-1649). The penny is worn but the depiction of a bust on the obverse and an oval shield on the reverse indicate the coin belongs to North no's 2263 - 2266. The initial mark is not discernable but would either be a rose or a plume indicating that the coin was produced from 1630-1632. The coin was produced at the Tower Mint.
