Silver cut halfpenny of Edward IV, First and Second Reign (1461-1470 & 1471-1483), an Archiepiscopal issue of the Archdiocese of York. The obverse bears the right hand side of the king's head facing with a key to the right of the neck, no mark on the breast and the inscription EDWARD.The reverse inscription reads CIVI/[TAS/EBO]/RACI which indicates the mint was Eboraci (York). The reverse is very worn and the long cross and pellets have largely been rubbed away, and it is not possible to distinguish whether the cross has a quatrefoil in the centre as would be expected.
