An incomplete Roman copper alloy gilded plate brooch. The plate is oval in shape with an oval recess in the centre surrounded by a raised rim where black glass remains. Around the outside of the recess there is a flattened border containing a ring of incised X shapes. To the reverse are the remains of an incomplete catchplate and raised rib for the pin attachment.  Brooches of this form were gilded with an engraved stone or glass gem set in the centre. The surface of the metal is heavily corroded. Although steelyard weights were in use from the Roman to post-medieval periods, biconical examples with iron extending from both ends tend to be of Roman date. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative rear hook bow brooch. It is missing the spring, pin, catchplate and part of the foot due to old breaks. The wings are semi-cylindrical in form decorated on their front faces with transverse moulded grooves. At the centre of the head is an integrally cast rear facing hook that would have originally held in place the now missing spring. A complete cast copper-alloy end-looped cosmetic pestle dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period, c. 1-200 AD.  It consists of a flattened sub-circular sectioned rod with one end pointed and the other demonstrating an integrally cast end-loop. It is plain with no decorative elements. It measures 49.38mm in length, 4.53mm in width and 8.95g in weight.  Similar examples can be found on the PAS database (SF-A3D5C7, SF-B6A85B SF-FADE94).

An incomplete, bent and extremely corroded cast copper alloy Roman bow brooch of Colchester derivative two piece front-hooked type, dating to the first century AD. The arms are semi-cylindrical and there is a stump for a spring hook at the front of the head. The bow tapers and curves back from the head, with a sub rounded cross section and a ridged spine. The bow tapers to a triangular foot with a stump of a catchplate beneath.

4 fragments of a puddingstone quern of probable Roman date. Puddingstone is distinctive conglomerate containing rounded red flint pebbles within a siliceous matrix, the main sources of which lie in Hertfordshire. Fragment of a Roman copper-alloy spoon of Crummy Type 3, consisting of a short length of the stem and a tiny fragment of the bowl, connected at an offset junction. A fragment Roman copper-alloy Colchester Derivative Harlow Spring/double lug brooch dating to circa AD 43-70. It is T-shaped in plan.
