A copper-alloy Iron Age to Roman cosmetic mortar, dating to 100 BC - AD 200. It is a centre-looped mortar with a crescent bow and slightly convex walls; it has a shallow U-shape sectioned groove. The terminals are very worn and they might have been shaped into bull's head. The circular loop is circular and protrudes form the lower edge of the bow.The surfaces are heavily abraded. Cf. An incomplete copper-alloy late Iron Age to Roman end-looped cosmetic mortar, dating to AD 1-200. It has a slightly curved bow in profile and a smoothly -rounded keel; the deep groove on the top of the bow, gives to it a U-shaped cross-section. The missing end should have had a loop or some other sort of handle. The surviving end is pointed and undecorated; the surfaces are moderate worn. A fragment of late Iron Age or Roman copper-alloy cosmetic mortar. It is the zoomorphic end of one of the two original terminal of the mortar. It represents a possible bull head with horns or ears heavily abraded; the back of its neck has the beginning of the V cross-sectioned curved grinding surface abruptly truncated after 16.97 mm from the base of the head.
