Description and identification Two halves of a decorated silver annular brooch frame. It is misshapen, with each part forming an elongated ‘U’ shape, which was once likely circular. The level of distortion obscures the form of the decoration on each ‘face’. Object is an incomplete copper alloy penannular brooch. (Possibly of Fowler type H3/ Booth type K2). The brooch has a circular cross-section frame that is bent round to form a loop. At each end of the frame is a flattened circular terminal, the face of both discs has a circular recessed cell that may have been filled with enamel, none of which is surviving. Incomplete Roman Brooch (possibly Colchester type?). It is missing its pin. The brooch is decorated with a 'rope like design which wraps around wither side of its head and it runs the length of the brooch from head to tip. The brooch has a green patina, with orange at its head where there is slight corrosion present. Overall the brooch is very smooth, ans shows signs of wear and use. The brooch weighs 17.1g, and is 69.64mm in length, has a width of 21.21mm at its head, and has a thickness of 8.89mm tapering to 3.91mm at its point

Roman copper alloy brooch of Trumpet type and of 1st or 2nd century AD date The brooch is incomplete, missing the leg and pin and is heavily-corroded (with a surviving length of 31.5mm, a surviving depth of 14.3mm and a weight of 6.0g). The missing spring was secured around a lug at the centre of the rear of the head. Incomplete Copper Alloy object. Possibly a brooch or a clasp. The object has a flat leaf like shape, which appears to be broken at its pointed end; there is a small circular perforation at its base on its obverse side. The base tapers into a ‘stalk’ which then curls back on itself. The reverse of the object is plain and undecorated, but the perforation is clear. The object has a green and brown patina and has a rough and uneven texture. The object weighs 6.3g and is 51.97mm length and 22.70mm in width tapering to 12.41mm at its pointed end.
