An incomplete copper alloy strap end, dating to the Early Medieval period, circa AD 800 - 900. The strap end triangular in plan. The upper edge of the strap has a curved end with two rivet holes; one broken. The plate is divided into three sections by two raised transverse ridges. The upper section is decorated but worn. Th body of the object narrows to a stylised animal head at the tip. The head includes a rounded snout and indentations for the eyes.
