A cast copper alloy suspension fitting of Medieval to Post Medieval date, possibly from a sword belt (Mark Redknap, Pers. Comm.). The loop is cast in one piece, which has been bent in half so that the two perforations line up to allow a now missing part to pass through. The perforations are through an expanded circular section of the fitting, with simple mouldings on the inner side of each, terminating in simple lobed knops. A near-complete copper alloy buckle and plate of Medieval date (c.AD 1250-1400). The buckle is cast and the plate is of sheet manufacture with a total length of 41.8mm. The frame is a single loop D-shaped type (measuring 19.4mm long x 18.1mm wide x 4.1mm thick) with two lobed knops with an oval section constriction/pin rest between them.
