The base of a ceramic vessel, possibly a crucible of Medieval to Post Medieval date. The base is circular, broken on one edge and tapers slightly before expanding into the shallow wall. The wall varies in height but enough survives around the hollowed interior. Within the hollow ares everal concentric grooves. The fabric is hard and slightly sandy with inclusions including sparce <1mm angular black sand and mica. Patches of a dark brown slip survives on the external surfaces and within the hollow interior.

A sherd from a Roman ceramic Samian ware vessel dating c. AD 43-260. The sherd comprises a fragment from the wall of a vessel. The sherd is trapezoidal with four broken edges, an undecorated plain interior and an abraded outer face. The fabric is fine and pale orange in colour with a glossy orange-red slip on both the inside and patches on the outer surface.
The fragment measures 26.8mm long, 22.7mm wide, 7.3mm thick and weighs 5.36 grams.

A rim and body sherd of a Black Burnished Ware (probably BB2) plain-rimmed dish or "dog dish", dating to the Roman period (c.AD 43-410).
Description: The sherd is rectangular in plan, convex on the front and slightly concave on the reverse. It has a rounded rim and a flat base, which creates a truncated plano-convex shape in cross-section.

A rim sherd of Roman grey ware from a bowl or vessel, dating to the period c. AD 200-400. The rim is rounded with a flat top. Below is a portion of wall with broken worn edges. The fabric surface colour is mid-grey and a lighter pinkish-grey throughout the core. The interior has horizontal striations. The matrix is fine textured with densely distributed fine black sand. All the surfaces are worn and abraded, with widespread scratching on the exterior.
The sherd measures 35.7mm long, 29.5mm wide, 8.4mm thick and weighs 11.24 grams.

The rim of a large cermamic vessel probably of Medieval to Post Medieval date. The rim of the vessel is rounded and very worn and damaged. Only a small portion of the outside face remains intact. The lower edge of the rim cuts in at a 90 degree angle to the vessel wall, which extends outwards to form a sub-rectangular recession below the rim. The recessed outer edge is intact. A body and rim sherd of a wheel-thrown, probably Roman, ceramic vessel. The rim of the vessel is flat and tapered with a shallow bevelled step to the portion of surviving wall below. There is no decoration on the interior or exterior surfaces. The fabric is hard and black on the surface and throughout the core, with very sparse black sand, mica and quartz inclusions, all <1mm. All the edges are broken and worn. The fragment measures 49.2mm long, 34.1mm wide, 13.9mm thick at the rim and the wall 6.8mm thick. The fragment weighs 18.64 grams.

A rim sherd of wheel-thrown Roman ceramic vessel. The rim is rounded with a portion of wall below. The exteriors of the rim and wall are plain. On the interior is a single groove along the back of the rim. The fabric is reddish-brown with a light brown core. The fabric is soft and uneven. With sparse black sand <1mm and sparse angular quartz <5mm. The sherd is 72.8mm long, 29.45mm wide, 8.1mm thick at the wall and 9.2mm thick at the rim. It weighs 28.98 grams.

A rimsherd of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel of Roman date, probably the second to fourth centuries AD. The sherd consists of a rim in a greyware fabric. The rim is a rounded everted type consistent with a storage jar. The surface fabric is mid-grey in colour. The core is mid-orange in colour, fine in texture with inclusions including dense black sand <1mm and very sparse angular quartz <5mm.
The sherd is 45mm long, 23.5mm wide, 5.4mm thick at the wall and 8mm thick at the rim. It weighs 10 grams.

An abraded rim sherd from a ceramic storage jar or cooking pot, probably dating from the Late Iron Age to Roman period. The matrix is hard with a coarse interior and exterior surfaces that are light brown in colour, as well as a darker brown/grey core. The matrix contains a moderate density of irregularly sized angular crushed white shell ranging in size between <1mm up to 2mm.
The fragment measures 37.28mm long, 30.16mm wide and 12.12mm thick. It weighs 14.63 grams.

A ceramic body sherd from a hemispherical bowl, Dragendorff form 37, from Les Martres de-Veyre in Central Gaul (Samian Ware) dating to the second century (AD 100-120/5). The slightly bowed sherd is sufb-trapezoidal in shape and is relatively even in thickness throughout. A body sherd of Iron Age vessel dating c. 800 BC-43 AD. Hard light brown-grey fabric across the surfaces and throughout the core containing black angular grog between 1 and 3.5mm sparsely distributed throughout the matrix. Grains of evenly distributed mica are visible throughout. All surfaces are abraded and pitted in several areas, while the breaks are uneven and worn.
