A group of five iron hob nails, of Roman date. The nails all have domed sub-circular heads of irregular shape.and shafts which are square in cross-section and bent. The largest is approximately 12mm in length and 10mm wide, the smallest is 10.5mm in length and 8mm wide.

An incomplete hammered iron horseshoe, possibly a Guildhall shoe, dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1250-1550). This remaining part consists of the outer right branch with a missing calkin. On the branch there is the fullering with 3 sub-square nail holes. The horseshoe is D-shaped in plan and in cross section. The front is convex and the reverse is flat. It is in very poor condition and is covered by a brownish-orange patina with traces of corrosion towards the edges. A complete very corroded iron 'woodman's' axehead dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1000-1500). The axe is broadly sub-rectangular in plan with an irregularly shaped blade that extends downwards. The socket is sub-triangular in shape with a rectangular-shaped butt, straight top-edge and angled lower-edge that was formed by folding and welding the tail of the blade to form a loop. A probable complete forged iron arrowhead of post conquest medieval date (1100 - 1350). The arrowhead is broadly sub-triangular in plan with a central spine which extends from the tip to a hollow (?) socket. Two sub-triangular blades expand from either side of the spine; these are relatively short and stubby. One blade is better preserved than the other. An incomplete and very corroded cast iron bill hook dating to the Roman period. The bill hook, of Rees 1979, type 4, has a sub-trapezoidal-shaped blade with a straight edge and a gently curving back. There is no evidence of a hook or beak on the blade edge, nor a spike at the back. Both tips of the blade are broken. From the blade edge, the plate gradually thickens and tapers inwards towards a broken long open-ended socket set at an angle roughly parallel to the blade. An iron axe-head, probably of late Roman date. The axe has an integral collar with oval perforation. This extends to a wedge-shaped blade with a pronounced curve. The axe measures 160mm in length and has a maximum width of 28mm. The perforation measures 37mm in length by 21mm in width. Manning (1976, p. 24) notes that this is a common form of Roman axe, which frequently dates to the late Roman period, although it has been found in earlier contexts.Examples are known from Strageath, Burgh Castle and in hoards from Great Chesterford and Silchester.

Incomplete Iron arrowhead, dating to the Medieval period AD1200-1500. The arrowhead is triangular in shape and socketed. One of the barbs has broken off. A small section of the shank survives. The arrowhead is corroded and covered in a pale brown patina and rust, with part of the darker black metal visible at the break. Similar arrowheads are recorded on the PAS database PUBLIC-2A78F8, PUBLIC-03F86C. The arrowhead weighs 7.58g, 43.45mm length, 15.66mm width
