A folded medieval short-cross penny, showing the reverse of the coin only. The coin is struck at Winchester, and is probably a class 3 - 4a (dating to 1190-1200 under Richard I and John). The reverse is slightly off-struck and reads +W (or possibly A) [... O]N.WINC, suggesting it is either Willelm (Class 3-4a) or if 'A' Adam or Andrev (classes 1, 3, 5 and class 5b-c respectively).
