A lead alloy token of later Medieval to Post-Medieval date, circa (AD 1400-1800). The token is circular in plan. On the upper face is an equal armed cross in light relief with a central pellet and a pellet in each quarter, imitating a Medieval penny (Powell type 14b). The reverse face is decorated with a capital 'C' in light relief Powell type 2 (Initials). The token has a cream coloured patina across all surfaces which also has areas of abrasion. A Modern Victorian copper alloy token dating to circa AD 1862 - 1893. Obverse: The token is circular with a central circular field with a shield at the centre and the word 'FORWARD' written underneath in a scroll. A complete Medieval to Post Medieval cast lead alloy uniface token, dating to c. AD 1250-1800. The token is decorated on one face with a cross and a pellet in each quarter design, all within a circle; the other face is undecorated. The token measures 22.05 mm diameter at the widest point and is 1.90 mm thick and weighs 4.3 grams. Tokens had a wide variety of uses and were easy to manufacture; they are therefore difficult to date specifically outside of secure archaeological contexts. A cast lead alloy token of later medieval or post-medieval date (1400-1800). The token is circular in plan. The upper face is well worn and contains a cast design in relief with a number of ribs visible at the outer edges of the token. A complete cast lead token probably dating from the post-medieval period. Mass: 4.1g, diameter: 22.0mm, thickness: 2.0mm. The token is unifacial, with a raised cruciform design with three curve sided arms (?petals) and the fourth formed by three straight ribs. There are also raised pellets and sub-triangular features on the front, within a circle of adjoined triangles. The reverse is broadly flat and undecorated, although there is a ridge around the edge.
