A Incomplete Medieval silver coin: a groat of Edward III (AD 1327 - 1377), fourth coinage (AD 1351 - 61), Pre-Treaty Series C dating from AD 1351 - 1352. Mint of London, cross 1. See North Volume 2 (1975) page 38 number 1147. The coin is 24.6mm diameter, 1.87mm thick and 4.24g. There is some edge damage.

An incomplete lead pilgrim's ampulla dating from the Medieval period; about AD 1270 - 1450. It is a châsse-like ampulla, inspired by the shape of a reliquary chest. The broken ampulla consists of the damaged rectangular neck of the ampulla, and a sub-rectangular phial which has a pointed top and base, rectangular main faces which are longer than they are high, and sub-rectangular end panels which have a point at the top and bottom.

A complete copper alloy thimble dating from the early Post Medieval period, about AD 1520 - 1620. The thimble has sloping sides and a shallowly domed top. It is circular in plan and there is a plain rim with a single groove border. The outer face has a line of evenly spaced punched triangular pits which spiral up to the right (a right-hand spiral) from the base to the top including over the top. An incomplete silver and gem propelling pencil (or mechanical pencil or porte crayon) dating to the late Post Medieval to Modern period, about AD 1750-1900. The object is cylindrical in form and hollow. It is formed from a single sheet of silver that has been rolled to create a tube. A slit along the tube reveals iron internal workings. The majority of the tube is plain but there are some areas of ornamentation. A Roman copper alloy brooch of the umbonate type, defined by Mackreth as British plate, Petelled boss type, dating from AD 75 - 200. The body of the brooch is a rounded hexagon in shape, but was probably originally circular, and is slightly domed, the underside being concave. A worn projecting lobe covers the catchplate. It probably dates from the Medieval or Post Medieval periods, about AD 1200-1800. It is a solid square-based pyramid which tapers evenly towards the top. The weight has a cream patina. It is a solid square-based pyramid that tapers evenly towards the top. The weight has a small perforation (3.2mm in diameter) through the top and this shows some signs of wear, probably the hanging point for suspension. An incomplete, copper-alloy buckle of Post Medieval date, around AD 1550 - 1650. It is a double-looped oval annular buckle, formed from an oval frame with an angled frame and an integral transverse recessed bar of rectangular cross-section. The frame is broken just beyond the bar, giving the object a wishbone shape in plan, so only one loop survives. The unbroken side of the frame has a long projecting flattened knop. An incomplete copper alloy (tombac) Post Medieval 'pimple' button dating from AD 1600 - 1700. The button is circular, and has a shallow domed front with a central raised pellet. The reverse is flat and there is the remains of a copper alloy wire suspension loop. The button is 12.6mm in diameter, 4.7mm thick and weighs 2.48g.. The metal has a shiny dark grey finish. See examples on page 35 of Bailey (2004).

A lead ovoid globular weight with the remains of an iron suspension loop, probably of Post Medieval date, AD 1500 - 1900. It is covered with dents and scratches and has a thin grey patina. The suspension loop appears to have been iron wire forming a loop at one end, but onyl the two stubs now survive. The weight is 60.4mm long, 47.3mm wide, 39.5mm thick and weighs 635g. The mass could suggest it was intended a 1.5lb weight.

A cast copper alloy half ounce trade weight probably of post medieval date, AD 1600 - 1900. It is circular with a recessed upper surface and a narrow rim. The dished section is marked with two concentric rings. There is a stamped crown mark in the centre. Another mark is very worn and is indecipherable. The underside is plain. The weight has a light green and red patina. The weight is 24.0mm in diameter, 5.0mm thick and weighs 11.45g. It was probably intended to be a half ounce weight (of about 14g).

Two small projecting bumps opposite each other on the inner perimeter may be the remains of a missing central bar.The surface has a brown patina which is badly chipped. An incomplete Late Medieval to Early Post-Medieval (AD 1450-1550) copper alloy branched double-socket candle holder. The surviving part consists of one socket-like candle holder and part of the arms which it slotted into.
The base, stem, spike or pricket, most of the arms and one socket part of the candlestick are missing. The socket has an integral rivet at the base, fixed through the hole in the end of the arm.
