A copper-alloy Roman as of Hadrian (AD 117-138), dating to the period c.AD 122-123 (Reece period 6). Possibly P M TR P COS III, S C, FORT RED reverse type depicting Fortuna seated left holding rudder? Mint of Rome. cf. RIC II.3, p. 119, no. 649; cf. RIC II (1st edition), no. 617. If the coin is indeed this type (which is unclear due to the preservation of the reverse) then it is likely to be a Coin of British Association as noted by D. Walker with examples from the Sacred Spring at Bath, Walker, 1988: p. 291, nos. 40-53, pl. XXXI.

A copper alloy Roman coin. A crude contemporary copy of an as of Hadrian (117-38), probably copied from an as of the period 125-8, possibly a Fortuna type. c.f. RIC II, nos. 677 and 698 and BMC III, pl. 86, no. 9. On this copy, the figure sits right rather than the normal left; this is probably because the forger forgot to reverse the type whilst cutting.
It is struck on an oval flan which is 26.4mm long, 24.5mm wide and 2.1mm thick. It weighs 5.85gm.

A plated silver Roman denarius of Hadrian (AD 117-138), probably dating to the period c.AD 134-138 (Reece period 6). Obverse: HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, Bare head right. Reverse: CONCORDIA AVG, Concordia standing left, holding patera and cornucopia. The coin is abraded and the copper-alloy core is visible beneath the plated surfaces; CONCORDIA seems to have been misspelled CONCOODIA though this may just be a poorly struck R. This combination of obverse and reverse does not apear in RIC II for Hadrian. Instead, …
