A worn and pierced copper-alloy Roman dupondius of Hadrian (AD 117-138), probably dating to the period c.AD 128-129 (Reece period 6). Probably HILARITAS P R, COS III, S C reverse type depicting Hilaritas standing left holding palm and cornucopiae(?), flanked by male and female children. Mint of Rome. cf. RIC II.3, p. 142, nos. 990-992.
The coin has a single rectangular piercing below the bust at 7 o'clock on the obverse face of the flan. Measurements: Diameter 25.69, Thickness 2.99mm, weight 9.4g
