A fragment of Roman Nene Valley colour coated Ware, dating to AD 43 - 410. The fragment is a rim sherd. The fabric is light buff and has retained a black slip. There are circumferential bands visible beneath the slip, most likely an indicator of a wheel thrown vessel. The sherd has two horizontal incised lines towards the rims edge. Many thanks to David Budge for help in identifying this sherd.
