A Middle Palaeolithic Levallois flake The flake is struck with a hard hammer on a piece of pale grey flint that is developing a yellow patina over areas of its surface. The flake has a plain striking platform and there are traces of cortex surviving on the dorsal surface. The flake edges are abraded, rolled and slightly chipped.

Near-complete Late Anglo Saxon stirrup strap mount, probably of 11th century date. The stirrup is unusual with a beast's head protruding downwards from the base of the mount (23mm deep). One other example with a protruding head has been recorded from Stoke Hammond, Bucks (Williams D., 1997, no. 383, p84). Features on the head are now difficult to discern, but the cast decoration appears to depict a snarling snout with four sharp teeth protruding from the underside. Cast flat disc in white metal or tin-lead alloy. The disc has cast decoration on one face depicting a clock face. The face has a raised beaded border before a plain section and the central clock face, consisting of roman numerals set between concentric circles. The numerals are divided by a single raised pellet. Inside the face is another beaded circle in addition to the cast hands pointing to ‘six o’clock’. The rear of the disc is plain and a fragment of the disc is missing. Medieval copper alloy three piece strap-end with forked spacer, this form of strap-end is known to have been produced from the late 13th to the early 15th century (Egan 1991), but most occur in 14th century contexts. The strap-end is composed of two tongue shaped copper alloy sheet plates with a rounded outside edge, divided by a cast forked spacer with a terminal knop. The terminal has a collar and resembles an acorn. The strap-end was secured by two rivets positioned near the attachment edge. No decoration is evident on the surface of the plates.
