A body sherd from a medieval to early post-medieval (AD c.1300-c.1600) Midlands Purple Ware vessel (Julie Edwards pers comm). The fabric is hard, coarse and purple-brown in colour. There are many tiny gritty inclusions. The outer surface has a brownish colour, whilst the inner surface is redder. The sherd is wheel thrown.

Mesolithic to Bronze age date (9000-1000BC) tertiary flake, most likely to be towards the later end of this date range (Ron Cowell pers comm). The dorsal surface is slightly convex. The ventral surface has a clear bulb of percussion and a small striking platform. Ripple marks (concordial fracture) is clearly visible on the ventral surface. The distal end shows signs of use around the edge but no obvious retouch (Ron Cowell pers comm).

An incomplete copper alloy pastry jigger dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1600-1800).
The object is comprised of only the wheel of the instrument, the handle is missing. The wheel is roughly circular in shape with a serrated edge. Both faces have a grooved surface of repeating lines that radiate from the centre. The centre present some iron staining indicative of the attachment rivets to secure the wheel to the handle. The object has a dark green patina.

A copper alloy sub-annular double looped buckle dating from the post medieval period (c.AD 1650-1720).
The buckle has an oval frame with a D-shaped section, and a strap bar through the centre. The pin is missing. The frame is undecorated and has a bright green patina.

An incomplete copper alloy object, possibly a crossbow bolt (quarrel) dating to the medieval period (c.AD 1300-1600).
The object consists of a socket and a solid head. The socket is round and conical in shape, it has an incomplete circular mouth. At the the tapered end of the socket is the solid bolt head which is square in section and tapers to a point. The object has a smooth light brown patina with pitting on the surface.

[Treasure Case 19.23]
A decorated silver double hooked fastener was found in Churchstoke Community, Powys, by XXXX, on 12 April 2019 (full details of the finder and landowner with contact details are given on the Treasure Receipt Form). The object was deposited at National Museum Liverpool on 12 April 2019 and subsequently transferred to the Department of History & Archaeology, National Museum Cardiff, on behalf of H. M. Coroner for Powys, Bridgend and the Vale of Glamorgan.

A incomplete copper alloy belt hanger or strap fitting dating to the Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval period (c.AD1400 - 1600). The plate is broadly rectangular in shape with each corner projecting as a rounded knop. The surface of the plate face is heavily corroded which has obscured the decoration, the remains of which appear to be a floral relief. The plate tapers into a curved hook for which the end has broken off. The reverse of the plate has two raised mounts which formally connected to the attachment spurs.

A complete copper alloy "Crotal" bell dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1500-1750).
The bell is 28.45mm in diameter with an integral cast square suspension loop with a round internal loop shape, two circular sound holes are either side. The top hemisphere is undecorated with the lower hemisphere having a possible floral decoration. Hammer symbol and makers mark (possibly S.C) are either side of the lower sound holes and slot. The iron pea is still present and the bell still sounds.

The fragment is likely from a closed bottle and is made from a light, cream coloured clay. The interior is covered with blobs of copper / copper alloy.

An incomplete copper alloy trumpet brooch of Roman date (c.75-175). Mackreth (2011:85) No 5212, type 1.3a2. The Brooch has a rounded head, on the reverse is which is where the pin would have been attached, all that remains of this is a sub rectangular projection. The curved bow projects downwards from the rounded head and has three raised bands, the largest of which being the central band. Below the lowest band there is a break. The brooch has developed a green patina.

An incomplete copper alloy object, likely an element from a beaded torc dating to the Iron Age (c.100 BC-AD 200).
The object is cylindrical with a bulbous centre that presents a pair of incised grooves at either end. From each side of the centre projects a slightly waisted arm before terminating in a worn rounded knob. Each knob end presents a worn sub-rectangular projection. The object has a worn light brown / light green patina.

The object is comprised of a stylised bovine head situated on a sub-triangular plate. An incomplete copper alloy rowell spur dating to the post medieval (c.AD 1600-1750)
The remains of the spur is comprised of the rear half of each arm, the neck and rowel box with terminals are still surviving but the rowel itself is missing along with the side terminals. The arms are D-shape in cross-section and are at their widest point at the neck of the rowel box and gradually taper towards the missing terminals.
