A barbed and tanged flint arrowhead, probably Late Neolithic in date (based on the most similar examples in Bond (2004, 147; ref. 180). One barb is broken with the point missing. The tang is relatively thick (6.9mm) and appears off centre due to a small chip. The point of the head is also snapped off.

A small leaf-shaped flint arrowhead, with small amounts of iron stain forming on the dorsal side. There is some patina on the right side of the dorsal side. On the ventral side there is a completely flat face; there are three clear faces on the dorsal. The point is broken off and there is a small chip in the left cutting edge, when looking at the dorsal face. The very deliberate leaf shape leads to the conclusion that this is an arrowhead rather than a microlith, and the date of Later Neolithic is suggested by a similar example, albeit more damaged, in Bond (2004, 142; ref. F140).

A cast iron medieval 'forker' arrowhead. These forked arrowhead were used for hunting birds throughout the medieval period, and are actually quite a rare find, especially complete as this example is. The arrowhead has a circular socket that has suffered only minor damage. Arrowheads are very hard to date as many forms were in use for several hundred years - this example dates from the 11th to 16th centuries. The arrowhead measures 62.16mm long, the widest point between the forks is 39.00mm and the maximum diameter of the socket is 14.65mm. It weighs 15.2gms.

A corroded and damaged Medieval iron arrowhead (10th-15th century). The poor condition makes it difficult to determine the typology but it is probably a Jessop type MP3 multi purpose type; Jessop O; A New Artefact Typology for the Study of Medieval Arrowheads; University of Durham; p194. The arrowhead is socketed with rounded shoulders and what is probably an oval cross-section. Dimensions: length 53.6mm; width of body 16.43mm, width of socket 7.99mm; weight 11.12g

An early Neolithic flint ogival leaf-shaped arrowhead. The arrow-head has the characteristic S-shaped profile. Both surfaces have been invasively retouched. There is some modern damage to the edges resulting in loss of material. Circa 4000-3000 BC. The flint is grey brown with an opaque patina forming on one surface. A possible Medieval arrowhead, made of iron. The arrowhead has a thin leaf-shaped blade and integral socket (which is incomplete). The socket has been made by hammering flat a bar of iron then rolling it over to produce the socket - the other end was then hammered flat and shaped into the arrowhead. The tip is missing, suggesting that it had been used, although whether for warfare or for hunting is unclear. The arrowhead measures 62.77mm long, 19.33mm wide and is 4.39mm thick. It weighs 18.02gms.

An early Neolithic leaf shaped arrowhead, kite shaped (after Green, Butler p123). The arrowhead is very fine and has been bifacially retouched. There is a small notch in one side which has also been retouched, suggested the damamge was caused during the production process and is not post-depositional damage. One end of the arrowhead has broken off and this is probably post-depositional damage. This arrowhead measures 23.95mm long, 13.62mm wide and is 3.48mm thick. It weighs 1.1gms.

A fragment of late Neolithic to early Bronze Age flint barbed and tanged arrowhead. The arrowhead has been pressure flaked and invasively retouched on both sides to create a thin bi-convex lenticular cross-section. The original shape of the barb ends looks to have been square. The triangular tip and a large part of the tang are missing leaving around 70% of the arrowhead intact; a fact which precludes full classification of the piece. Similar arrowheads are shown in Butler.C; Prehistoric Flintwork (2005) p162-165 and are dated to circa 2500-1500 BC.

A fragment of an iron arrowhead, probably a 'spearhead' type arrowhead of the medieval period. The fragment consists of the very tip of the hollow or socketed arrowhead. Medieval arrowheads are very hard to date as they were in use throughout the period, and without contextual information they can only be broadly dated, c. AD 1100-1500.
