A incomplete long cross penny of Henry III (1216-1272) dating to the period 1250-72. All that remains of the coin is one quarter which has been cut according to the long cross on the reverse, presumably to create a smaller denomination. The obverse depicts one of the curls to the right of the forward facing bust and there is a pellet in the centre. The legend reads ...NRIC... which is part of the name Henry. The reverse depicts part of the long cross and there are three pellets in the quarter, and it is likely that there would have been three pellets in each of the quarters. Only…
