A late Bronze Age hoard. 1. Spearhead blade fragment. The upper part of a probable leaf-shaped blade with convex edges. The break is corroded. A complete copper alloy flat axehead dating to the period c. 2200 to 1900 BC. The axehead is sub-rectangular in plan and in section. Both edges are still sharp although quite uneven and the surface of the object is badly abraded and the object is quite poorly preserved more generally. The axehead is rounded at one end, the cutting edge, and the axe then tapers towards the butt. This example is most probably part of the Migdale metal working tradition. The metal is a dark brown in colour with some areas of light green corrosion. A knapped flint barbed and tanged arrowhead of the Bronze Age. The arrowhead is triangular in shape with barbs and a tang. The barbs are squarish as is the tang. The width across the shoulders of the barbs is 30.52mm. The length from tip to tang end is 39.23mm. The body of the arrowhead is 5.09mm in thickness. The tang is 8.8mm thick and the barbs are 6.75mm thick. The edge shows very regular pressure flaking, and the arrowhead is in excellent condition as well as being made of a good quality flint.

A section of corroded copper alloy blade of probable Middle Bronze Age 1500-1150BC. The surviving fragment is rectangular in form, pointed oval in section with distortion along the length. It is 94.94mm in length, 19.49mm in width and 6.01mm thick. It weighs 41.4g. There is a pronounced central spinal ridge. The blade is bent upwards with an old break at one end and thickening at the opposite, possibly hilt, end. A flint core of probable late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age date, circa 2500 - 1500 BC. The core is sub-triangular in plan, with an irregular cross section It is pale grey in colour with paler inclusions. There is a triangular patch of buff coloured cortex to the ventral side. Both the dorsal and ventral sides have numerous flakes removed from a number of different striking platforms and percussion points. The rapier blade fragments are in two pieces that fit together and a third piece from the mid-blade, all with very abraded edges. A fragment of a cast copper alloy axehead [probably a palstave] dating to the Bronze Age. The fragment is wedge shaped with an expanded blade measuring 45mm across. The blade edge is intact. The axehead is broken below the blade revealing a hollow, cast interior. The breaks are worn suggesting ancient damage. The surface of the axehead is corroded and pitted with a green to brown patina. A fragment of a copper alloy Late Bronze Age socketed axehead (c.1150 - 800 BC). Only a fragment of the axehead has survived, broken transversely across the blade. The blade edge is curved. The fragment is 102.8mm in length, it has been broken just over midway along the broad leaf shaped blade, that measures 39.89mm at its midpoint.
