CURATOR'S REPORT
Description of Object
Fragment of silver trumpet brooch, with only the head and part of the bow surviving. There are traces of copper from the spring, which is missing, alongside the lower part of the bow, foot and catchplate. There are a series of complex mouldings on the bow, which include an acanthus flower with five-petals. There are a series of transverse grooves within circular bands on either side of the acanthus flower; the head is plain.

CURATOR'S REPORT
A Roman coin hoard of the 2nd century.
Description of the Coins
The hoard contains twelve coins, of which eleven are silver denarii and one is a degraded copper alloy coin. The finder notes that it may be a nummus/minum, and this copper alloy coin is not likely associated with the deposition of the silver hoard. The earliest coin dates from AD 101-102 (Trajan) and the latest from AD 176 (Faustina Augusta).
