A worn but mostly complete cast copper alloy Roman Rosette Brooch dating to c.AD 25-60.  The brooch is made of a large flat plate with projecting pin and catchplate. The plate has two zones. The first is a circular (29.7mm diameter) main body that has a circular (3.3mm diameter) hole at its centre. Part of a probable C16 knife end-stop.  The object has one rounded end and one rectilinear, and is 21.2 mm high and 13.3 mm wide at the base, narrowing to 11.6 mm wide at the rounded top.  The base is straight, but with indications of projections at each end.  In cross-section, the object is slightly rounded on one face, and apparently flat on the other, although the flat surface is obscured by attached corrosion products.  The weight of the object, including the corrosion products, is 8.2 g.
