Copper alloy mount and a copper alloy ring, probably for the suspension of a vessel. Probably Late Iron Age or Early Roman. The round-sectioned ring, complete but sprung apart at a break, is engaged with a loop at the top of the mount, below which two arms clasp a fragment of iron. The arms taper from the loop before expanding into rounded terminals, in the centre of which there is a copper alloy rivet. Some detail is obscured by corrosion. External and internal diameters of ring c.20 and c.15mm. Length and width of mount 24 and c.7mm. Thickness of iron c.3 - 4mm. No good parallel note…

Medieval copper alloy clasp: a frame with ornate outside and a small part of the sheet plate folded around the bar. The edge with two holes and engraved decoration depicts a stylised zoomorphic or possibly human face, cf. a fragment from Meols (Egan, G. in Griffiths et al. 2007, no. 901). Length and width 26 and 14.8mm. Second half 14th century.

Medieval copper alloy rectangular or trapezoidal strap clasp frame with a very large knop in the centre of the outside edge in the form of a highly stylised mitred bishop's head in low relief. The bar is recessed or narrowed on the underside. File marks are visible on the surfaces, particularly on the bar. Cf. NMS-5FF7B4. Overall length 32.5mm. Length excluding knop 17.5mm. Width 21mm (19.5mm at the bar). Maximum thickness (at the episcopal nose) 3.1mm. 14th century.

Part of a post-medieval copper alloy spur side with a symmetrically placed figure-of-eight terminal, before which are two pairs of triangular lateral projections, each with a transverse engraved groove on the front face. Another groove runs along the terminal between the attachment holes. Cf SF-3E35D9 and SF-7DBB1E. Extant length 25.4mm. Width 13.5mm. The complete spur must have been rather weak: at the break and between the projections the side is only 4mm in width. Thickness 2.3mm. 17th century.

A Medieval (1250-1450) copper alloy probable strap clasp. It has a plain rectangular frame with a projecting oblong integral attachment with ridged collar, rounded to one side and flat to the other. At this point on the inside edge of the frame is a flat semi-circular protrusion. The two connecting arms of the frame at this point extend downwards. It measures 37.16 x 22.39 x 3.94mm and weighs 7.1g.

A fragment of a copper-alloy frame from a Medieval folding strap clasp. The incomplete frame takes the form of a stylised zoomorphic head. The vertical outer side of the frame, which represents the face, is wide, the surface sloping towards a pointed nose. An incised double chevron represents the animal's brow, in front of which two circular piercings have been used to depict the eyes. On the other side of the brow, a series of short, roughly horizontal grooves has been used to indicate hair or fur. A possible pendant in the form of a hook, possibly replicating a bone fish-hook, and probably of Modern date. The object is 40.5mm long and 21.6mm wide. It is 8.9mm in diameter tapering to a rounded point and it weighs 7.12g. The material is not entirely obvious. Thought at first to be ivory or bone, close examination of a chipped area reveals a closely textured, solid, granular material, with a gritty feel, suggested to be ceramic (perhaps pipeclay).
